While doing some cleanup on the range this past Friday, I noticed a pair of bullet holes in the ‘PISTOL BAY’ sign.
What kind of mental deficiency does one have to possess to vandalize a sign located in the middle of our range outside of the many approved shooting areas?
Apparently, it’s not good enough that thousands of hours has been invested to provide our membership with thousands of meters of ranges which provide countless opportunities for safe and certified target shooting.
Instead, someone decided it be a great idea to perforate club property in a reckless and unsafe manner.
This sign will now have to be replaced. With the various projects planned this coming season, this is not an expense or project that we should have to incur.
Further, it appears that someone has been using the gate posts on the road to the long range as targets. Again, there is absolutely no reason or excuse for shooting at anything that is not an approved target located downrange.
Anyone who has been caught or identified as the person responsible this vandalism or other firearm related damage to the range will have their membership revoked. Further, the EFGA will contact the CFO and request that your firearm license be revoked for unsafe use of a firearm.
