Although some of the more politically active members may have seen this hit the news a little earlier in the month, we’d like to share with you a quick letter from our Yellowhead MP, Jim Eglinski.
Mr. Eglinski took some time to visit with us last summer. A good discussion was held concerning Bill S223, as well as the CPC’s revised firearms platform.
Jim writes –
I am pleased to provide you with a final update on Bill S-223, the Strengthening Canadians’ Security and Promoting Hunting and Recreational Shooting Act.
The Senate Liberals decided they would not proceed with the bill and it was dropped from the Senate Order Paper on November 3.
Sincerely,
Jim Eglinski, MP
Yellowhead
We’d like to extend our thank-you to MR. Eglinksi, both for his time and position on this matter.
Bill S223 was a particularly egregious private senators bill that would have had a huge negative impact on legal firearm ownership in Canada.
Now on to the next battle…
