It’s looking like spring is FINALLY here.

After a unseasonably snowy April, we weren’t sure we’d ever see it.

Spring is always a challenging time for us at the range as we have to contend with road conditions that are not always favorable, bears and other assorted items. We are asking for help from all members regarding the following items:

Roads

If you see the a cable blocking access to any range access roads, it is there for a reason! We must restrict vehicle access with soft road conditions. We’ve incurred a huge financial and labour cost last year spreading gravel throughout the range. We can’t afford to do it again.

Wildlife

The return of spring also marks the return of wildlife, including a family of bears. We have one damn big grizzly as well as several black bears to contend with. PLEASE do not place food waste of any kind in the trash cans! This includes coffee cups. Mr fuzzy got into the cans on the long range last year because someone did exactly that.

Pistol Bay – Hydroseeding

If the floor of the pistol bay looks wet, please stay off. Until we see our hydroseeing efforts hold, we all must avoid tearing anything up and undoing our investment. It’s been coming along nicely since last fall; we’ll need to evaluate the progress by late spring.

You may continue to use the gravel roadway in the event of a soft pistol bay floor.

Thanks for your assistance. Let’s all have an excellent shooting season!
