DESCRIPTION:Project Mapleseed is returning to The Longest Mile! \nProject Mapleseed is an apolitical rifle marksmanship training program that focuses on teaching traditional rifle marksmanship from standing\, sitting/kneeling\, and prone positions in a one day shooting clinic termed a “Mapleseed”.  They are a non-profit\, all volunteer run organization committed to helping Canadians develop fundamental marksmanship skills and in the safe handling of firearms. \nProject Mapleseed is open to shooters of all ages. The minimum you need is a .22 rifle\, 400 rounds of ammunition and a teachable attitude.  Mapleseed is open to all calibers and sight types including scopes. The .22LR  semi-automatic\, magazine-fed rifles are the most commonly seen for their ease of use during the mandatory magazine changes and low ammo cost. DESCRIPTION:It’s time for the Edson Fish & Game Association’s AGM!\nWith all the challenges during the last year and a half\, we were unable to host an AGM.  \nAs long as our Alberta Government’s current re-opening holds\, we’re pleased and relieved to be able to get things back on track! \nCome out on Tuesday\, August 3rd. Doors open at 6:30pm\, meeting starts at 7:00pm sharp. \nMeetings are at The Galloway Station Museum. The museum is located at 223 – 55th\, right beside the Edson Chamber office. The museum’s meeting room should allow us to maintain comfortable distancing for any concerned members. \nYour participation would be most welcome to help shape the future of our facility. DESCRIPTION:West Fraser will be completing their manual tending project that was started back in June (click here for details). As such\, we will be closing the full range between August 3rd – August 7th. The work will be taking place between 7am – 6pm. \nLockout protocols will be observed to help ensure the safety of everyone involved. \nWest Fraser is committed to working directly with us to minimize any closures and the impact to our membership. \nCLOSURE DETAILS \nThe FULL range will be closed for Forestry surveys between Tuesday\, August 3rd to Saturday\, August 7th. \nAs West Fraser will be working between 7am – 6pm\, members are welcome to use the range after 6 to get in some evening shooting. \nNormal access to the range will resume on Sunday\, August the 8th. \nIf you have any questions or concerns\, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

DESCRIPTION:West Fraser will need to close the full gun range on June 8th from approximately 8:00 am to 5:00 pm to complete the layout of our manual tending project in a forestry block that lies within our safety template.  \nLockout protocols will be observed to help ensure the safety of everyone involved. \nBe aware that depending on the results\, there may be additional closures required to complete any manual tending work (likely sometime in July). That said\, West Fraser is committed to working directly with us to minimize any closures and the impact to our membership. DESCRIPTION:Monthly Meetings Return to the Edson Chamber of Commerce Office\nRSVP REQUIRED!\nWe have received word from the Edson Chamber of Commerce that we are able to once again use their conference room to host our monthly meetings. \nTheir COVID-19 guidelines state that their facilities can safely accommodate a maximum number of 12 people to ensure proper social distancing. All RSVPs will be responded to letting you know if the spot is available. \nRegardless of physical attendance\, you are always welcome to submit any questions or comments to be read and addressed at our meetings.
