DESCRIPTION:Project Mapleseed is returning to The Longest Mile! \nProject Mapleseed is an apolitical rifle marksmanship training program that focuses on teaching traditional rifle marksmanship from standing\, sitting/kneeling\, and prone positions in a one day shooting clinic termed a “Mapleseed”.  They are a non-profit\, all volunteer run organization committed to helping Canadians develop fundamental marksmanship skills and in the safe handling of firearms. \nProject Mapleseed is open to shooters of all ages. The minimum you need is a .22 rifle\, 400 rounds of ammunition and a teachable attitude.  Mapleseed is open to all calibers and sight types including scopes. The .22LR  semi-automatic\, magazine-fed rifles are the most commonly seen for their ease of use during the mandatory magazine changes and low ammo cost. DESCRIPTION:Much progress was completed this past weekend throughout the range. Huge thank-you to each and every one of the volunteers who came out! \nThat said\, there wasn’t enough time on the clock\, and we’re looking to finish off our CFO list this coming Saturday\, July 29th. \nWe will be concentrating more on the pistol bay\, but there will likely be additional temporary range closures throughout the day. Time permitting\, we’d like to also address some weed spraying and mowing. \nAs always\, all members are more than welcome to lend a hand.  \n \nWe’d also like to extend a HUGE thank you to Jade Oilfield! \nJade donated not only a skid steer\, but the operator’s time. Speaking of which\, I hope we’re not speaking out of school\, but we want to pass on some love to Dillan. His donated time and skill was awesome. It was unexpected yet greatly appreciated. DESCRIPTION:We’re having a range-wide work bee this coming Friday\, July 21 – Sunday\, July 23. \nAs per our CFO’s recommendations\, we’ll be performing various maintenance and update tasks throughout all ranges. \nWork will start at 9:30 Friday morning as equipment arrives. \nAlthough there will be range closures throughout the weekend\, efforts will be made to keep one or two alternating ranges open throughout the weekend. \nEveryone is welcome to stop out and lend a hand – we’d very much appreciate seeing some members come out to donate some time and sweat equity.
