SUMMARY:Got Your Six Charity Rifle Competition
DESCRIPTION:After much work invested by both the Got Your Six crew and the Edson Fish and Game\, The Got Your Six Charity Rifle Competition is set to get underway this coming July 16 & 17 weekend! \nHosted by Canadian Armed Forces veterans and active duty soldiers\, their goal is to raise funds  for the Wounded Warrior program\, as well as raise awareness for PTSD. \nA pig roast will be held the evening of the 16th\, once the course of fire is done for the day. \nWe’re expecting to see upwards of 150 people attend the competition. \nAlthough all ranges will be closed to accommodate the shoot\, we’d like to extend an invite to one and all to drop by over the weekend and enjoy the competition. DESCRIPTION:The long rifle range will be closed this Friday\, February 5th\, to Saturday February 6th for a major construction event. \nA huge thank-you to everyone who came out to lend a hand this past weekend to help install a roof on the Long Rifle range’s shelter! \nWe’d like to continue to take advantage of the excellent winter conditions and excitement to hopefully complete the shelter this weekend. If we can put in a few more hours\, we’ll be able finish the paneling and walls. \nWally is planning to be out on the range at 9am. Anyone who can help is welcome to drop by. DESCRIPTION:CHANGE OF DATE\nWe apologize for the last minute change of dates\, but due to circumstances beyond our control\, the range closure that was originally scheduled for November 25 – 26 will now shift forward a week to December 2 – 3rd.\nThe range is once again open to the general membership November 25 and 26. \nDetails are as follows: \nThe RCMP Emergency Response Team will be conducting training exercises throughout the entire Longest Mile Range facility beginning Wednesday\, December 2\, 2015 at 10:00am. Exercises will complete by Thursday\, December 3\, 2015 at 2:00 pm. \nThe entire range will be closed starting at 10:00am for the rest of the day. Although you’re welcome to use the range in the early morning of the 2nd\, please be prepared to leave upon the RCMP’s arrival. The gate will be locked during this time. \nNormal operations will resume the following day on Thursday\, December 3 by 2:00pm. DESCRIPTION:The Pistol Bay will be closed to the general membership October 17 and 18\, 2015 to host the following firearms course:\n[title size=”2″ content_align=”left” style_type=”double solid” sep_color=”” class=”” id=””]Dynamic 3-Gun: Rifle\, Shotgun\, and Pistol[/title]\nRobert Gorman of Tactical Yoga continues his firearms training course at the Longest Mile with his Dynamic Firearm Training Courses. \nHone specific skills needed for competitive practical shooting through a series of drills designed to give you an edge. Using a mix of reactive and static targets\, these drills include precision shooting\, near-to-far transitions\, engaging multiple targets\, shooting while moving\, and a lot more. Shoot smooth and fast using the SIG (Simple is Good) principle of shot delivery. \nMaterial is presented in a casual and relaxed environment with sufficient classroom and range instruction for each student to achieve a solid level of comfort.
