DESCRIPTION:Project Mapleseed is returning to Edson July 8th!\nDuring the next week\, registration is open only to EFGA members.\nRemaining spots will then be made available to the general public.\nProject Mapleseed is a one-day marksmanship event designed to teach you the shooting fundamentals that will help you develop a stable and accurate shooting position\, and understand the process of firing the perfect shot. Our events are open to shooters of all ages and experience levels. \nThe minimum you need is a .22 rifle\, 400 rounds of ammunition and a teachable attitude. \nNew or Experienced Shooters – Family Friendly \nWhat you will learn: \n\nRock Solid Shooting Positions\nUsing a Sling for Support\nNatural Point of Aim\nSix Steps to Firing a Shot\nSight Adjustment\nHistory and Heritage\n\nFor more information on Project Mapleseed\, please visit their website at https://www.mapleseedrifleman.com/ \nFrom my own experience\, book now! DESCRIPTION:The Junior Forest Wardens have generously donated some time and labour to help with some range cleanup. \nWe’ll be doing some maintenance throughout the range. \nThe FULL range will be closed for maintenance on the following date: \n\nSaturday\, June 15 from 9:00am – 4:00pm\n\nOnce finished\, we’ll host a small shoot as a thank-you. DESCRIPTION:THE FULL RANGE WILL BE CLOSED FOR PINE BEETLE CONTROL:\n\n\nFriday\, February 22 – Sunday\, March 3\n\n\n\nDue to the extreme cold conditions we’ve seen this past couple of weeks\, more time is required for the the pine beetle control program. \nAs before\, all parties have been working together to find the optimal time to complete this critical project. SUMMARY:CLOSURE: Full Range - Pine Beetle Control
DESCRIPTION:THE FULL RANGE WILL BE CLOSED FOR PINE BEETLE CONTROL:\n\n\nMonday\, February 4 – Friday\, February 15\n\n\nIn short\, the pine beetle survey that took place earlier in the month has identified numerous sites that need immediate attention. From Forestry: \n“Crews have currently identified 3\,241 treatment trees in 55 sites.” \nDuring the closure\, additional sites will need to be surveyed. Once completed\, a full burn and/or peeling and chipping will be take place. \nWe realize that this is a long closure\, but it’s one that must be done to mitigate potentially much larger problems. \nThere’s been great communication between all involved parties to find ways to optimize range closures. As February is historically one of the quietest months out of the year\, it’s an opportunity to get it done now and avoid further closures during later months. \nNormal access to all ranges is scheduled to resume by Saturday\, February 16\, 2019. \nIf you have any questions or concerns\, please don’t hesitate to contact us. \n-EFGA

DESCRIPTION:Join us this Wednesday\, January the 23rd\, for our Inaugural indoor Archery Range Shoot!\nJosh and his merry gang of volunteers has an indoor range ready to go! \nHe’d like to welcome all archers this coming Wednesday from 7 – 9pm downstairs at ‘The Heart of Edson Gallery’. The gallery is located at\, well\, the heart of main street Edson: 303 – 50 Street (the old Just Frame It building). \nThe cost to EFGA members is free. There will be a $5 charge for guests. Both compound and traditional archers are welcome. Archers must provide their own equipment. \nIf all goes well\, the plan will be to meet every Wednesday. \nPlease RSVP with Josh directly. DESCRIPTION:The Long Rifle Range will be closed for maintenance on the following date:\n\n\nMonday\, January 21\, 2019\n\n\nHello EFGA Members\, \nWally and gang were able to get a lot of maintenance done during the range closure earlier in the month. He’d like to complete the work on the final two backstops\, 1500m and 1600m\, this coming Monday. \nAlthough we’ll plan for a full day closure\, if all goes well with muscle and weather\, they may have work completed by 13:00. Will update if there are any changes. \nThe full range will resume normal operation no later than Tuesday\, January the 22nd. \nIf you have any questions or concerns\, please don’t hesitate to contact us. \n-EFGA
